Ensemble FestivalsBrief Overview
Ensemble Festivals provide an opportunity for students of all ages to perform ensemble music in a non-competitive and welcoming format. Ensemble Festivals are open to any combination of instrumental and vocal students. Vocal ensembles can consist of up to eight vocalists. Ensemble Festivals are designed to encourage and motivate students to explore the musical challenges inherent in the study and performance of ensemble music. Ensembles are given constructive comments, along with a rating from 1-5. Students receiving a ‘5’ are invited, but not required, to perform at the CAPMT Festival Celebrations. Some Chapters hold their Festivals in a recital style where they are open for other to attend, while others hold their Festivals in a private format with just the student, evaluator, and door monitor. Please confirm with your Chair to inquire which format your Chapter uses. Ensemble Festivals Guidelines (last updated July 2026) |
Registration Fees
$35 per individual participating student (NOT per ensemble) (+$40 surcharge for students of Non-CAPMT Members) In order to keep fees affordable for students, teachers must be able to volunteer -- preferably on the day of the event, or in some cases, remotely in other administrative tasks. If unable to volunteer, please consider virtual Festivals where volunteering is not needed.
